Community Sponsors Home Giving Community Sponsors

The exceptional feeling of Community at Shorecrest is real - we see it on and off campus each and every day.

The Shorecrest Community Sponsors Program is designed to connect businesses in the St.Petersburg and Tampa Bay Area with opportunities meaningful to their goals- whether sponsoring athletics, arts or a special event, Community Sponsors receive recognition, appreciation and patrons!

We invite you to join us in our pursuit of personal and academic excellence, physical well-being, creative achievement and the development of a commitment to social responsibility.

Set your business apart from the rest and in front of our community of highly engaged parents, the area’s best professional faculty, and bright, motivated students.

Sponsorships are available on an annual, event or program basis. Monetary and In-Kind donations are considered.

Success of our events is thanks in large part to our valued sponsors and is a fantastic way to enhance your philanthropic profile within the community at large. Allow us to help your company achieve its corporate and social responsibility goals while also being a change maker in the world of education as you support to help shape a bright future for all learners.

To inquire about available opportunities or to co-create one of your own, please contact Sarah Heibein, Senior Giving Specialist, Community Partnerships [email protected] or 727-456-7533.

GIFTS-IN-KIND

Before donating an item to Shorecrest Preparatory School, please ensure that you have obtained written approval from the Advancement Office.

Please fill out this form for approval of Gifts-in-Kind

TAX INFORMATION

According to the IRS, it is the donor's responsibility to fill out the receipt and assess the donation's value. For more information, read IRS Publication 526 for an explanation on the types of contributions you can deduct, how much you can deduct, what records to keep, and how to report charitable contributions.

DETERMINING THE VALUE OF DONATED ITEMS (IRS PUB 561)

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires donors to value their items. IRS Publication 561 defines “fair market value” and helps donors and appraisers determine the value of property given to qualified organizations. It also explains what kind of information you must have to support the charitable contribution deduction you claim on your return.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY THE IRS FOR TAX REPORTING

Property worth $500 or less: You must justify the deduction with the receipt provided by  Shorecrest Preparatory School. The receipt should include the donor's name, address, date, and a list of items donated.

Property worth more than $500, but not more than $5,000: In addition to the receipt provided by Shorecrest Preparatory School, you are required to complete IRS Form 8283, "Non-Cash Charitable Contribution." This form will contain written records of how the property was acquired, and your cost basis if the property was held less than 12 months. Also, if you are claiming one item is worth $500 or more, you must have the item appraised, and save the certificate of appraisal with the receipt in your tax records. Appraisals should be done before items are donated and payment of the appraisal is the responsibility of the donor.

A single item valued at $5,000 or more, or several similar items donated in a single year whose value totals $5,000 or more: This donation must be appraised before the donation is made, and the appraisal must be obtained by the donor.  Shorecrest Preparatory School does not perform appraisals on any donations.

Shorecrest Preparatory School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation as defined by the IRS, which means that all gifts to Shorecrest are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Visit the IRS website for more information.
