The Chargers got off to a slow start offensively and defensively, but managed to put together solid offensive drives. In addition they made drive ending stops after trailing midway through the second quarter. Trailing 14-12, the offense made explosive plays to end the first half and continued during the 3rd quarter to take the lead and end the third quarter with a 38-14 lead. Adjustments made by the defense at halftime helped it pitch a shutout in the third quarter and take stress off of the offense.

A number of young and inexperienced players stepped up on both sides of the ball to help the team secure the victory in its season opener. Highlighted plays include a 58-yard touchdown run by Ahmad Crumity '25, a 50-yard touchdown run by Nickolas Bearden '25 and a 41-yard reception by Wes Ryan '25 from Nickolas Bearden '25.
