The Grandparent Council encourages grandparents to get involved at Shorecrest and get to know each other. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities at Shorecrest from volunteering in the library, to helping with the Lower School gardening program, helping with art or athletic activities and more.

The Council organizes several social and learning activities during the school year including Grandparents and Special Friends Day. Attendees enjoy getting to know fellow grandparents and learning more about Shorecrest.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day

On March 22, 2024, more than 600 special guests visited campus for the 39th annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day celebration at Shorecrest. Students from across the PK3-12 school performed on the Janet Root Theatre stage, showing the progression of talented artists from the youngest students to the impressive production numbers from the Middle School and Upper School musicals. This annual tradition offers a glimpse inside the classrooms, allowing the special visitors to experience the daily life of Shorecrest students.
