Chargers Volleyball Weekly Recap
Shorecrest Chargers JV Volleyball vs. Indian Rocks Christian: 2-0 Win! (25-10, 25-12)
The Chargers played a great match of clean volleyball and controlled the game from start to finish. They are continuing to build from the start of the season to now as they prepare for another match tomorrow and a tournament in Wesley Chapel this weekend.
Lucy H. '29 stood out as the top scorer with 8 kills as a middle blocker. Sara Ferris '28 had 16 assists. Hazel Needler '28 had some great hustle plays in the back row.
Varsity Volleyball vs. Indian Rocks Christian: 0-3 Loss. (17-25, 22-25, 21-25)
Christina Satterfield '25 had a great night defensively; she read the hitters very well and put herself in a great position to lead the Chargers in digs. Morgan Harrington '27 was on fire offensively, they just couldn't get her the ball enough. She made smart choices when she had the opportunity to swing. Hayden Z. '29 had a great defensive game and also had a couple of key service runs.
Morgan Harrington '27 had 8 Kills and 3 Blocks. Christina Satterfield '25 had 8 Kills, 13 Digs, and 3 Aces. Hayden Z. '29 had 17 Assists, 9 Digs, and 1 Ace.
Varsity Volleyball vs. Admiral Farragut Academy: 3-0 Win! (25-10, 25-9, 25-12)
"I'm so proud of our team effort tonight!" gushed Coach Taksas. "The offense was firing on all cylinders. Morgan Harrington '27 and Caroline Bean '26 were very effective in the middle; and our setters Sara Ferris '28 and Hayden Z. '29 did a great job distributing the offense. Ava Gurievsky '27 and Emma Brill '28 were also big contributors to our offense. Olivia Nicklaus '26 and Emma Brill '28 had several aggressive serving runs."
Morgan Harrington '27 had 16 kills and 1 ace. Emma Satterfield '28 had 8 aces, 6 kills, and 5 digs. Caroline Bean '26 had 4 kills. Oliva Nicklaus '26 had 5 aces, 3 kills, and 4 digs.
JV Volleyball vs. Admiral Farragut Academy: 2-0 Win! (25-13, 25-23)
The Chargers played their first away game of the season, snagging their second game win in row.
Lucy H. '29 was the player of the match; she stood out playing the entire match in a position that was outside of her typical spot. Emma Brill '28 had 5 aces. Avary Fleming '28 led the team in kills.
Both teams are now preparing for this weekend's 2024 Florida Gem High School Invitational tournament in Wesley Chapel.
Middle School Green Volleyball vs. Indian Rocks Christian: Win! (25-8, 25-9)
The Green Team got first game jitters out of their system with a victory over Indian Rocks.
