Celebrate the Arts Week

Art instruction is interwoven as part of the Shorecrest curriculum. To celebrate the lessons and skills taught all year, we dedicate a week each spring as Celebrate the Arts. This year we had visiting artists in residence in The Experiential School and Lower School on Friday, and in Middle School on Wednesday. Community members with careers in painting, sculpture, culinary arts, dance, writing, floral design, architecture and much more came to share their experiences and create hands-on opportunities for our students.
Student artwork is also on display around campus, with a juried art show for grades 9-12 in the SAC and Janet Root Theatre Lobby. Upper School students received well deserved art awards at a special assembly on Thursday, and Lower School students performed on Friday for families and friends. The highlight of the week was our spring musical - Mary Poppins!
