First Graders Are Becoming Playwrights

Bill Leavengood, Upper School Playwriting teacher, along with some of his seasoned Upper School Theatre students, recently visited the first grade classrooms. The high schoolers acted out several short stories they had written, then composed one on the spot with the help of the first graders. It was fun for the first graders to see their story come to life.
The challenge then was for each first grader to write a short story to submit to the Upper School Theatre group. The stories have been submitted and the first graders are anxiously waiting to be invited to the Black Box Theatre where the Upper School students will bring their stories to life.
