Google Cardboard in French 1

Upper School News

Mrs. O’Horo’s French 1 students learned a great deal about Paris with the app Paris VR and Google Cardboard this week. Google Cardboard along with the app allow iPhones to act as hand-held virtual reality devices in the clasroom. They took a virtual guided tours in French of famous places like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Conciergerie, and the Notre Dame cathedral.

Students are fine tuning their skills of how to describe events and places with the present and past tenses, so this was a perfect activity to pull a variety of concepts together. All students thought that it was a great way to see the sights and hear the sounds of Paris without the jet lag! Look for more virtual reality soon in all Upper School French classes as more French language apps become available.
