After a very intensive application and selection process, Ethan Danielson ‘22 was selected by the Coolidge Foundation as a Coolidge Senator.
Over 4,700 students from across America submitted applications to this year’s competition. While a few students were recipients of the 2021 Coolidge Scholarship, Ethan earned the distinction of Coolidge Senator. Only 100 candidates from this year’s scholarship competition were named Coolidge Senators.
In honor of his accomplishment, Ethan was invited with an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to attend a Class of 2021 Coolidge Senator Summit.
The high honor was presented with a humorous message. A letter from Amity Shlaes, Chair of the Coolidge Foundation, stated, “We hope through the application process you have come to know America's thirtieth president better. Please take consolation in knowing you have better marks than Coolidge himself earned in high school. You are an impressive student with a bright future. We know you will accomplish much in your life and look forward to getting to know you, cheering you on, and supporting you as a Coolidge Senator.”
