Upper School Convocation

Upper School News

Upper School opened the year with the annual Convocation ceremony in the Janet Root Theatre. Mr. Dillow, Head of Upper School, gave a talk to the students about how to navigate the stormy upcoming presidential election, using our school's new Core Values as lamp posts.

Mr. Murphy offered advice on how to "Be More" by giving away six T-shirts - all of which were being worn by him layered under his academic robe - and which represented examples from the Cleveland Cavaliers, this summer's terrible massacre in Orlando, Muhammed Ali, and our own beloved Janet Root, who sadly passed away in June.

Senior Max K. addressed the student body as President of the Honor Council about the importance of upholding the Honor Pledge. We wrapped up the program with the tradition of each senior coming on to the stage to sign The Honor Book, a pledge to uphold our Honor Code. The Underclassmen signed their own books the next day during Community Time.
