Pre-Med Club learns about the heart

Upper School News

The Pre-Med Club met for its monthly meeting in January. Club members learned about the heart and how it functions, and Mrs. Peck even showed the students a real cow heart. After she sliced it in two, she pointed out the aorta and the different chambers of the heart.

Mrs. Peck discussed blood pressure too. Club members then had the chance to measure the blood pressure of a partner and listen to their heartbeat. Members really enjoyed this hands-on experience in the Center for Medical Sciences.
