Upper School theatre students challenged third graders to write a very short, original story about 50-70 words in length. The assignment read, "Think of one, two, or three characters about which your story will be. They can be people, animals, even things! Give the characters something they want or need to do: a task, a goal, or a dream to fulfill (which is called an “objective”). Then, come up with a few obstacles: things that they will need to solve or overcome in order to achieve the objective. How it turns out in the end is completely up to you!"
The stories were sent to Upper School theatre students, who then acted them out for the young playwrights in the Black Box Theater.
