Mr. Heller’s sophomore World Civilizations class recently read the anti-war novel “All Quiet on the Western Front” by Erich Maria Remarque. To demonstrate some of what they learned, students built a 3D model of the Western Front utilizing materials in the Charger Commons Makerspace. Mr. Heller let the students' creative juices flow using papier-mâché for the foundation, images from the Front, paper clips, egg crates and more to develop a pretty cool rendering. He was inspired by his own sixth grade teacher whose class created WWII related dioramas.
