Special Olympics: What to Expect

Upper School News

On Saturday, Shorecrest will host the Special Olympics Florida Hillsborough and Pinellas County Fall Classic featuring competition in flag football, softball, and powerlifting. More than 300 Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and Unified partners will participate in the day’s competition. The event will be staffed by more than 150 Chargers, faculty, staff and parent volunteers from Shorecrest thanks to leadership from Upper School Student Council and US Admin.

In addition to enjoying a day of competition, the athletes, volunteers, and spectators can enjoy food from local food trucks and a volunteer-created Olympic Village featuring games, prizes, music, and more. Each volunteer will also receive a free lunch and t-shirt from Special Olympics Florida.
