NOMINATE A VOLUNTEER By MARCH 24

Upper School News

Many wonderful people give their time, energy, and effort to Shorecrest each year. If you know of someone whose contributions have been outstanding, please NOMINATE that person for the Janet Root Volunteer of the Year Award

Without your input, a worthy volunteer might not be considered. Furthermore, names of individuals receiving nominations are kept in the Shorecrest Community Association file since past nominations may be a factor in selecting an honoree. Please nominate someone today!

Criteria for selecting the Recipient
The Janet Root Volunteer of the Year Award was established by the Shorecrest Parent Association (now SCA) in 1984, as a commemoration of Janet Root’s innumerable volunteer efforts and as a means of recognizing other outstanding Shorecrest volunteers. The award plaque hangs on campus. It bears Janet’s name and the names of the past years’ recipients.

The Selection Committee has adopted the following criteria for choosing the recipient:
  • Length of service to the Shorecrest community.
  • Service in a variety of areas, i.e. Athletics, Fine Arts, Library, Grade Level Representatives, Shorecrest Community Association, etc.
  • Positions held as a committee chairperson and committees served.
  • Positive moral character.
Nominations should be submitted on the Award Nomination Form linked below to be considered. Feel free to obtain volunteer details from the nominee (it does not have to be a confidential nomination.)

** The form will accept nominations through March 24. **
