Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Football vs. Sarasota Christian: 44-8 Win!
The defense met the challenge of a team averaging 42 points and 351 yards per game, by holding them to 8 points and 90 yards of total offense. The defensive front pressured and harassed Sarasota Christian's quarterback the entire game and the secondary allowed only 9 completions while intercepting 2 passes (one returned for a touchdown by Ben Worman). The offense consistently moved the football, although it failed to convert on 2 fourth downs and was forced to punt for only the fifth time all season. An electrifying 75 yard touchdown run from Nickolas Bearden '25 was one of only two explosive plays for the game, but the offense used a consistent ground game and timely passing to amass 376 total yards. The team improved its record to 8-0 and continues to progress on both sides of the ball.
