Calling All Music Lovers

Last Saturday night, Band Leader Mr. Updike and Upper School history teacher Mr. Heller escorted four lucky students to the Mahaffey Theatre to listen to Handel's "Messiah". This was the first time in recent memory that the entire Oratorio was performed. The house was packed, and the Florida Orchestra and Master Chorale were in top form.
In an effort to get a student audience hooked on the Classics, the Florida Orchestra is offering free seats to young people in Middle and High school. In light of this, both teachers would like to start a Musical Appreciation club to attend the remaining concerts of the season.
