Apprentice Doctors Learn Sutures

Upper School News

Lisa Peck, Upper School Anatomy Teacher and faculty advisor to the Apprentice Doctors Club, invited Dr. Jeff Leimbacher, an emergency room doctor at Largo Medical Center, to visit her Apprentice Doctors Club. He discussed emergency medicine and then taught the students how to suture wounds. The students used suture kits purchased from the Apprentice Doctors Academy to suture lacerations on pigs' feet. They will continue to practice suture techniques during future club meetings.
