Pomegranate Provocation

Experiential School News

Student in Ms. Brandimore's Alpha class were introduced to a new fruit this week. First their teacher held up a mysterious, round, fuschia object. Some students guessed it was an apple, onion or peach. All great ideas, but not correct...

Next the teachers cut off the stem and let students smell it. They stuck with their initial guesses.

Finally, Ms. Brandimore cut it open, and all of their eyes were wide as saucers when they saw so many tiny, pink seeds inside. “Are they grapes?” someone asked. “They look like little cranberries!” one student considered. One girl said “ITS A POMEGRANATE!!!”

Everyone received a section to dissect and eat. They devoured the fruit. Every last seed!
