Alpha Class Gains Skills at Home Depot
Shorecrest Alpha students in Ms. Ginger and Ms. Alisa's class had a wonderful opportunity to explore the world of building and creativity during their recent field trip to Home Depot. The session began with a brief tutorial on how to assemble the flower boxes. The children used hammers and nails with skills they had been practicing in the classroom. They were excited to participate, and eagerly followed instructions and worked together in small groups. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and teamwork as they nailed the pieces together. Then they their flower box to make them cheerful.
After the building session, the children were taken on a guided tour of the store. The tour allowed them to see various departments, learn about different tools, and understand how Home Depot operates. They were particularly fascinated by the lumber section and the garden center.
Throughout the tour, the Home Depot staff encouraged questions and provided informative answers, sparking curiosity among the children. They learned about the importance of safety when using tools and how to care for plants, reinforcing concepts about responsibility and environmental stewardship.
The field trip to Home Depot was a resounding success. The children left with not only their beautifully painted flower boxes but also a sense of accomplishment and new knowledge about building and gardening. It was memorable day for both the children and their teachers.
