Second Grade Landmark Tour

Lower School News

Second grade launched a Landmarks unit with a waterfront tour of St. Petersburg. They visited some of St. Pete's well known landmarks as well as some that are less familiar. Some of these landmarks included the The Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club, the Ponce de Leon Hotel, Demens Landing Park and the Museum of Fine Arts.

Did you know that Peter Demen and John Williams flipped a coin to see who would get to name St. Petersburg? Peter Demen won and named this city St. Petersburg after St. Petersburg, Russia, where he fled from.

Did you also know that the Chicago White Sox won't stay in the Vinoy Hotel because they believe it's haunted?!

Second graders learned a lot about the Sunshine City and saw a lot of great landmarks!
