JK Happy For Sprouts & Field Trip

Experiential School News

Seeds Sprout
Since they planted cabbage and chive seeds just a few weeks ago, the Junior Kindergartners have been diligently watering and watching for signs of plant life. This week, excitement abounded as the children discovered their first sprouts. Everyone was also happy to see that the snap pea and bean seeds that were thought to have drowned from the excess water in their planters, sprouted after Mr. Bender drilled holes that allowed the dirt to dry out!

Reflecting on our Experiences
Following their field trip to Crisp Park this week, the Junior Kindergartners took time to reflect on and document their time there. Each of the children thought about their favorite part of the experience, drew an illustration, and dictated their thoughts to the teacher. Therefore, visiting Crisp Park provided opportunities for social interaction, gross motor development, reflection, fine motor control, learning to create representational drawings and literacy! Oh, and of course a trip on Gus the Bus!
