Plant an acre; donate an acre

Upper School News

In October, 2015, students in the Upper School F.A.R.M. Club planted an acre of a variety of vegetables including tomatoes, cabbage, collards, peas and corn. Over the course of three months the crops grew and were maintained without the use of harmful pesticides or other chemicals. In early January 2016, the club went back to the farm, harvested over one hundred pounds of crops and delivered them to a local food bank.

The F.A.R.M. Club is a service club created in 2015 by Tate M that promotes Florida agriculture. The letters of the name stand for Future Agriculture Resource Managers. The club's goals are to train its members about farming and help to feed the needy - and to have FUN while doing it! The club is always seeking new members. Please contact Tate M ([email protected]) or Mrs. O’Horo ([email protected]) in the Upper School if you have an interest in learning about farming or a passion for providing healthy food to people in need.
