On Sunday, August 14th, Boy Scout Troop 219 assembled on Brightwaters Boulevard to lend a much needed hand to the Snell Isle beautification project. Twenty-five scouts and their family members washed, restored, sealed, and painted ten animal statues located on Brightwaters Boulevard, Estado Way, Maron Street and Lamara Way.
Scoutmaster Brian O’Neill said, “A significant part of the Scouting program is teaching young men to be engaged in their community and to provide service to others. The Snell Isle beautification project is a great opportunity for our young men to become better citizens and stewards of our community.” Not only did the scouts earn a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work, each volunteer hour they worked will go toward their rank advancement.
The animal statues the scouts restored look absolutely beautiful.
