Reconstructing British Inventions

Upper School News

Mr. Heller's tenth grade World Civilizations class is studying the British Industrial Revolution. Students are creating models of an invention from that time (1750-1846). They used the research library to learn more about an inventor and an invention, and will reconstruct it in the Makerspace on a 3D printer or throw clay in the art room.

This type of hands-on, project based learning helps students explore real-world challenges, and can make even the 18th Century seem relevant today. When students are engaged personally in the material, they often connect better with the information, have a better understanding and remember it longer.
