Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Volleyball vs. St Pete High: 3-0 Win! (25-19, 26-24, 25-21)
The home opener of the varsity volleyball season was an incredibly charged environment! The students, families, and faculty who showed up were truly the spirited 7th player for the team. The Chargers came from behind each set to sweep a great St. Pete High team 3-0.
The Chargers defense was very efficient. Kate Craig '24 had a great digging night (19 digs), and Bella Hursey '24 (6 kills, 5 blocks, 3 digs), Maria Happ '24 (9 kills, 9 assists, 4 blocks), and newcomer Malayna Mallory '25 (9 kills, 2 blocks) were all a huge blocking presence. The Chargers used a balanced attack, with five players getting 15 or more attacks. Hayden Z '29 led the team with 13 assists, 5 digs, and an ace.
This is going to be a very exciting season, come out and support the team!
