Shorecrest Chargers Middle School Girls Soccer vs. Carrollwood Day School: 2-1 Win!
The Chargers took on Carrollwood Day in their last game of the season. Having lost to this team earlier this season the girls were fired up to put everything they practiced into action on the field. From the first whistle the Chargers dominated the field of play! Rarely did the ball cross over into their defensive half of the field -- and when it did Bianca F. '28 and Lexi L. '28 regained possession. Laine C. '30, poised and confident in goal, handled a penalty shot with ease. Just before half time Avree V. '30 took a shot from the top of the 18-yard box, sending the ball into the top left corner of the net. Piggybacking on that momentum, defender Bianca F. '28 dribbled the ball from midfield all the way to score one minute into the second half. Carrollwood Day was able to get a ball into the net two minutes later, but the Chargers worked together for the remaining half of the game to maintain possession and earn the win!

"Congratulations to the team for a fun and successful season!" shared Coach Dougherty. "The Middle School Girls soccer team ends their season with a final record of 7-3. Thank you to our eighth graders who will move on next year: Bianca F., Lexi L., Ally C., Kiera N., Ella M. and Khali C. You will be missed!"

Middle School Boys Soccer vs. Carrollwood Day: 0-2 Loss.

Varsity Boys Soccer vs. Northside Christian: 6-0 Win!

Varsity Girls Soccer vs. Calvary Christian: 3-3 Tie.
A penalty kick by Addie Oman '24 put the Chargers up by a goal early in the game. Sloppy play and an aggressive opponent saw the Chargers down by two goals in the second half. Not to be deterred, the Chargers regrouped and took control late in the game to score two goals leading to a tie game.

The Middle School Girls Soccer Chargers spent some of their practice time with the P.E. Favorites After School Club for grades K-2. The older girls paired up with the younger students to teach them how to properly pass a soccer ball.  The older and younger Chargers became fast friends!
