Fall Festival: A Complete Community Event
As chairman of this year’s Fall Festival, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of those in our community who contributed to its success. As I jotted out my list, I noticed that it covered nearly every category that I can think of that makes up our community.
First of I would like to thank Gina White and all members of SPA. It is through their efforts and support that this event is made possible. Next comes the Fall Festival committee itself. I would like to thank my teammates: Sarah Hunt, Kimberly Burke, Zeina Kropf, Lisa Hahn, Julie Cenedella, Gina White, Beth Vivio and Shaheen Hemsey. Their energy and “get it done” attitude was uplifting and contagious. I would also like to thank all of their spouses who stepped up in order to make them available for volunteering their time.
Continuing with those who contributed in planning and preparing, I would like to thank Dr. Bianco, Dr. Baralt and Betty Gootson and their staff. They handled registration, communication with the teachers and parents, and even handed out lunches.
We would have a heck of a time without the help of our wonderful grounds crew. They set out tables and tents and trash cans and recycling containers. They are always helpful and ever willing. Thank you.
This next thank you goes out to the volunteers who contributed their time and effort. With so many games and activities for the children, the need for volunteers to set up, supervise and cleanup is huge. I saw parents, grandparents and Upper School students take shifts throughout the day.
I would like to thank Officer Batman, Officer Frankenstein and our security team for keeping this a safe and secure event and contributing to the spirit of the day. Great costumes guys!
I would like to thank our vendors for quality service. We had a Dunkin Donuts caffeination station, Tropical Smoothie oasis and PDQ for our lunches so we could keep our energy going.
Our vendors contributed to entertaining our children and capturing the memory. Thank you to Action Promos and Events for the inflatables and games. Thank you to Jason Cannon of Cannonfire Photography for the photo station and for capturing the costume parade and the event. (You can purchase photos of your children on his website, password chargers.) Thank you to Phillip, our high energy DJ, for arriving early and making set up so much fun. And thank you to Ashtay Productions for the photobooth. We’ll see you again at the Daddy Daughter Dance!
Thanks again to SPA and the boosters for making spirit wear available and for giving the community a chance to support SPA’s efforts through ordering greenery for the holidays.
A couple of special individual thanks go out to Mrs. Dottie Smay our school librarian for returning as the prize lady and Mr. Bill Leavengood from our theater department for carving our auction prize pumpkin.
On behalf of Shorecrest, we would like to thank our latest business partner, Lil’ Divas and Dudes, who generously provided spikey colored hair for our little dudes and nail polish for our little divas. You can visit them nearby on Fourth Street for a child’s haircut, mani-pedi or to plan your child’s next birthday party.
Sincerely,
Patrick McNulty
