Sharing Project-Based Learning

Experiential School News

Project-based learning gives students opportunities to investigate topics in depth through inquiry, research, experimentation and discovery. This process also allows for the integration and application of skills and concepts from each discipline.

The Junior Kindergarten fall projects were science-based, but also involved literacy, math, art and social skills. The final phase is sharing learning through a culmination project that illustrates their new knowledge. Each child created a blueprint for their project and then followed through with the plan.

The representations ranged from paintings to books to sculptures. Parents were invited to the culmination event this week where they viewed the completed projects and talked with the children about them.
