Making Maps in Preschool

Map are fascinating to children, perhaps starting from the treasure maps they love to create. That interest is a wonderful lead-in to exploring the world, from mapping their school environment to learning about more distant places. As the Junior Kindergartners began their journey to explore the world, they were introduced to the idea of a map key and used one, along with felt pieces, to create maps of their own design.
