Alpha's Trader Joe's Field Experience

Alpha students continued learning about where food comes from with a field experience at Trader Joe's. The excitement started with a ride on "Gus the Bus" - Shorecrest's yellow school bus. Alpha classes were then introduced to the inner workings of a grocery store. Students went into the freezer that was five degrees below zero, and the refrigerated “cheese” room that holds all the dairy. The youngsters loved the machine that packs and compiles cardboard boxes for easier recycling. Everyone got to try scanning a food item at the cash register to hear it beep.
