Students in JK, fifth grade, sixth grade and eighth grade worked together to restore a section of campus. This area was previously full of Australian pines, an invasive species that dampers surrounding wildlife. The pines were removed and students planted a variety of native species which help maintain the water's edge and may bring bees and butterflies. Funding for this project came from part of a grant Shorecrest received from the Tampa Bay Estuary Project.
