Skittles Science Provocation in Alpha

Ms. Daley and Miss Brandimore’s alpha class has been studying rainbows. Last week they conducted a science experiment with Skittles candies. In groups of two, students received a plate and a little palette of Skittles. After students placed their candies how they wished, they added a small bit of water to cover the bottom of the plate. While they waited for the "magic" to happen, each child shared their favorite color from the Skittles rainbow. Soon the students noticed how the Skittles seemed to be melting and creating rivers and wheels of color. The had so much fun experimenting!
