Buddy-Up Science Experiment

Experiential School News

Mrs. Palazzolo's fourth graders met with Junior Kindergarteners to performs acts of kindness. The older students set up a chemical reaction science experiment for the JK students to complete. They prepared cups of baking soda and glitter, plus vinegar. They used chalk to write the younger students' names on the sidewalk, and then stepped a safe distance away in the garden to deliver instructions for the experiment from there.

JK students located their names on the sidewalk and followed the instructions. The young scientists used droppers to collect vinegar and squeeze it into a cup of baking soda. JK students noted the "fizzy" sound, the "bubbles" that resulted, and "sparkles" from the glitter while experiencing a chemical reaction.
