Rising JK students can join Jackie Roller, Alpha Associate Teacher, at these week-long summer programs:
Little Mathletes Summer Camp: July 12-16, July 19-23
Little Mathletes camp is a week of exploring mathematical concepts. Measurement, estimation, comparison, patterning and shapes will be reviewed. As scientists, campers will use scales and balances with natural materials to compare heavy and light, big and small. As mathematicians, campers will make guesses to predict the number of objects in jars. As engineers, they will build shapes with clay and toothpicks. At the end of the week we will create a fun project with many of the loose parts to bring home.
Little Artists Summer Camp: June 14-18, July 5-9
At Little Artists camp, campers will get to draw on "the walls," use their toes to hold art utensils and even draw upside down under the tables. Everyday objects such as rubber bands, forks, paper towel rolls, and even toy cars will be used to paint crazy but beautiful creations. Students will also be making their own paints and paint brushes with natural materials. Bring a change of clothes and prepare to get messy!
Shorecrest camps are open to the public. Sign up with your friends! Learn about all of our camps at www.shorecrest.org/summer. If you have questions about Summer at Shorecrest, let us know here.
