Technology Safety Considerations for Parents of Young Children [Video]

Dr. Anna Baralt, Director of Educational Technology, presented on the topic of Technology Safety Considerations for Parents of Young Children for parents in The Experiential School of Tampa Bay.

Discover how to plan ahead for talking to your child about digital safety in an appropriate manner so they know how to use technology in ways that help them to learn and do not expose them to harm. Hear what parental controls are suggested to put on devices to protect children’s privacy and safety, and what to expect as children grow. Find out what digital citizenship means and how students can learn and practice it at school and at home. Consider your parental role in engaging with your kids while they use technology and the parameters you set on where/when they use it.

The focus of the talk was on safety measures for ES parents today while also sharing ideas of what to look out for in the future by becoming aware of the big things (social media platforms, games, technology tools) kids in LS, MS, and US are using.
