Shorecrest Prep won the Class 1A-Region 5 boys golf tournament Monday at East Lake Woodlands with a team score of 309, edging runner-up Saddlebrook Prep (312).

Shorecrest Junior Greyson P earned medalist honors with a 70. Clearwater Central Catholic’s Andrew Heric and Canterbury’s Kyle Shealy advanced to the state tournament with scores of 71 and 72, respectively.

For the girls, Northside Christian finished second with a team score of 339 to advance to state. The Mustangs’ Alyssa Lamoureux had the low individual round with a 69. Indian Rock Christian’s Bianca Sol Cruz advanced to state with a 79.

St. Pete’s Blake Dyer advanced to state by finishing second in the Class 3A-Region 4 tournament at Feather Sound with a 74. Seminole’s Antony DeRosa won the playoff against Dyer to win the region title.
