Shorecrest School

State Golf Championship

In the Press

The Shorecrest Chargers varsity golf team had its best showing ever at the FHSAA State Golf Championship due to the individual play of senior Greyson P. The two day tournament was held at the El Campeon golf course at Mission Inn on Oct 27 and Oct 28.

Greyson shot a 73, 1-over par round, on the first day placing him in a tie for 4th and only 3 shots back of the leader. A lengthy rain delay preceeded the final round, but Greyson wasn't fazed. His play over the first 13 holes was very solid but he finished with a barrage of birdies. Greyson birdied 4 of his last 5 holes and narrowly missed a birdie putt on the 18th. His 69 was tied for the low round of the day and tournament but was one shot short of the leader. His second place finish is a spectacular feat in the state of Florida as the field and talent is consistently the best in the country.

The Shorecrest community is so proud of the amazing season Greyson has put together. He won three 18-hole tournaments, won the district title this season, and was runner up at Regionals and States! Wow!
