JK Activity Day

Experiential School News

Last week, JK students and their visitors enjoyed a morning of under the sea fun! The day of activities culminated their studies of water, the habitats it creates and the plants/animals that live in those habitats.

Activities included:
  • boat making and testing propulsion
  • observing live fiddler crabs
  • making an ocean in a jar
  • observing real shark, blue crab and squid specimens
  • making a hotdog octopus snack
  • Guest experts from the Florida aquarium presenting "sensing nature." Students learned about animal senses and observed a live eastern box turtle.
