On November 20, students in The Experiential School of Tampa Bay celebrated fall and harvest time in their classes with lots of fun activities.
Alpha students made bird feeders from rice cakes, sunflower seed butter and bird seeds. They played at sensory tables with colored rice and gems, leaves and Thanksgiving-themed cutouts from Helping Hands. They shaped and molded play dough with fresh herbs and thought the basil smelled like pizza sauce. Students strung beads on leather cord to make their own necklaces and bracelets. And you would not believe the beautiful fall-colored leaf wreaths they designed and produced!
JK started their day by rolling utensils with rosemary to decorate their space for their luncheon feast. They had tables with manipulatives and sensory items to play with. Art projects included large leaf self portraits and clay turkeys with real feathers. Before joining together for their feast, they viewed heartfelt messages from their parents and teachers about how thankful they are for each Charger in the class.
