Alpha on the Go! [Photos]

Experiential School News

Alpha students, JK students, families and faculty celebrated on May 12 at the Alpha on the Go! transportation event.

Each student brought a vehicle from home to ride. From scooters to tricycles to 2-wheeled bicycles, each Alpha student had a turn riding the straightaway down Charger Blvd. Adults and JK students lined up to cheer on the riders. With tunes and emcee skills from Mr. Steve Lowe, everyone had a great morning! After the festivities, families had a picnic-style snack on the Gaffney Green.

"The energy during the event was not something that anyone should take for granted," shared Adriana Hollenbeck, Head of the Experiential School. "The children were colorful, determined, fearless and fully understood the assignment.

"Alpha On The Go! is a little sample of what the future holds. The children will choose their ways, they will have different speeds, they will find the tools that work best for them and they will figure out what to do when obstacles become part of their path.
You will do what you did so well: be there for them, cheer them on, and feel great about their accomplishments because they will need that to find the courage to embark on the next journey. Life gives us tracks and finish lines. You will go through several of these with your little ones."

Thank you to the Alpha Teaching team who spent weeks assisting and prepping the Chargers for their rides. Thank you Ms. Nancy Spencer, Mr. Steven Lowe, Mr. Brian Hawthorne and SAGE for playing a special role in the event. Thank you, guests, for the enthusiasm!
