Chargers Athletics Welcomes Margo Snipe
Shorecrest is pleased to welcome Margo Snipe, the new Communications Coordinator for Chargers Athletics, to the community. To get to know her, we asked a few questions about her interests and connections to sports.
What was interesting to you about this role?
This role stood out to me because I’ve always lived at the intersection of sports and storytelling. Athletics shape who we are and how we approach life, and I love supporting athletes, learning about them, and coaching them. When the Communications Coordinator opened up, it felt like the perfect way to combine all those interests and support our student-athletes.
What’s your background?
I walked onto the Division I Women’s Volleyball Team at Georgetown University in 2016 and graduated in 2020. I earned a starting spot, served as team captain during my senior year, and was president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. In that time, I met regularly with the athletic director, traveled to conferences, and developed a deep love for all sports and the student-athlete experience. It led to me becoming a volleyball coach while also working as a professional journalist. Over the past few years, my reporting has garnered both national and statewide recognition for its impact.
What do you love about Shorecrest so far?
After about a month in this role, I’ve truly felt a sense of community. I love walking around campus, seeing smiling faces, and feeling welcomed by the students and parents. It’s also been such a joy to serve as the Chargers JV Volleyball Head Coach. Thank you for the support. I'm excited to continue building connections here!
