Clark Mason '26 Wins FJT PGA National Open Title
Over the weekend of April 12-13, Shorecrest student-athlete Clark Mason '26 competed in the FJT PGA National Open. He was among the 84 of Florida’s top junior golfers to battle for the title. At the event hosted in Palm Beach Gardens, Mason went 7-under par through 11 holes then lost some shots, ultimately finishing with a 3-under 69. The final score secured him the trophy.
“A lot of hard work finally paid off,” said Mason. Getting to play in this tournament and then also play well feels good since it is what he has been practicing for each and every day he steps on the course to practice, he explained.
“Winning always is hard, but it just makes it that much more rewarding when you do. I'm just happy and grateful to be able to play in such amazing places and with such great people.”
Golf stars, like Tiger Woods, attended the event.
“Competing in an event with Tiger Woods in attendance is always something special,” said Mason. “There's a different vibe in the air when he's around.”
Coming back from the tournament, Mason said he is feeling great. Before this competition he had taken a brief two month intermission from tournaments. He is really happy to have returned with a win.
