The Shorecrest Gala: A Night of Imagination and Impact

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, nearly 450 community members gathered for the Shorecrest Gala presented by American Integrity Insurance Group to celebrate the "Power of Imagination." Hosted at the Vinoy in the Palm Court Ballroom, the Shorecrest Gala drew current and past Shorecrest parents, alumni, faculty, staff, grandparents and friends of the School together for a fundraising event that made Shorecrest history, raising nearly $2 million to establish the School's first ever general endowment fund.
"Tonight is about celebrating our imagination, our belief, and our actions so that future Shorecrest parents and students, now and forever, will look back at us with appreciation and gratitude and awe, and say, 'What vision, what imagination, what a legacy,'" shared Head of School, Nancy Spencer, prior to the start of the event's live auction.
Through live and silent auctions, individual philanthropic gifts, and community sponsorships of the Shorecrest Gala, the event raised over $1.8 million, leading to the establishment of the Shorecrest General Endowment.
"Our general endowment will now provide annual support in perpetuity supporting our school," said Michael Gillis, Director of Advancement. "More importantly, pairing our annual giving programs with a longer term endowment and capital projects offers exciting ways for all of us to support the school philanthropically that will benefit students, teachers and family every year!”
In a video shared at the event, Trustee Adam Befeler captured the true spirit of Shorecrest, stating, "When you think about Shorecrest, you think of something so much more than a school. You think about a community. And this community, time and time again—through good times and bad—has had each other's back."
March 8, 2025, now marks a milestone in school history as the creation date of the Shorecrest General Endowment.
Reflecting upon the success of the 2025 Shorecrest Gala, Nancy Spencer shared, "I am humbled by the generosity that exceeded our imagination and look ahead to an exciting future for Shorecrest."
