Over the course of the year we will be highlighting some of our Contributing Chargers, those members who have participated in Two Funds. One Mission., and sharing their stories of why they gave.
Today’s Contributing Chargers, Golfo Alexopoulos and Thomas Smith, are the parents of Upper School students Athena ’22 and Sophia ’24. Both Golfo Alexopoulos and Thomas Smith are professors and have a passion for education. For this reason and more, they choose to support the students, teachers, and families of Shorecrest by giving to Two Funds. One Mission.
“We support Shorecrest because our children are thriving in this community, and we know that the academic experience they have here will have a lasting impact on their future.” Golfo explained. “As professors, we understand the high cost of education and the fact that many educational expenses are not covered by tuition. Our hope is by supporting the school, we will demonstrate the importance of giving, whether the gift is large or small.”
This is a pivotal year to sustain the Annual Fund and finish Transform. When we make a gift to Shorecrest, we are really just giving to each other. Visit www.shorecrest.org/support to join our growing group of supporters. Our community - our children - are counting on us!
Also, please join us at A Night to Rise: Friday, November 15 at 6:30pm (with a tour at 6pm)
At this all-community celebration, attendees will have the unique opportunity to experience Virtual Reality equipment, create with a 3D printer, and power robotics equipment. Try out some of what our students will do on the second floor of Charger Commons! RSVP at www.shorecrest.org/riseRSVP.
