Alpha Learns about Diwali

This week, the Unicorns (Mrs. Daley's and Mr. Folwell's Alpha class) learned about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. Shorecrest parent Nidhi Patel visited the classroom to share a book about Diwali and guided the students through a project. Each child created their own Diya from clay and decorated it with colorful gems. They added a battery-powered tealight to make it shine!

The holiday of Diwali reminds us of the importance of goodness and light. The students so enjoyed learning about all of the different traditions, customs, and decorations of this special holiday.
