Announcements from and updates to Dr. Lisa Bianco's weekly email to Lower School parents.
Start of School Forms
If you have not done so already, please complete and turn in all forms. To access start of school forms in PowerSchool, use the link from the Parent page of shorecrest.org: https://www.shorecrest.org/pag e/parents.
Back to School Night
At Back to School Night on Thursday, August 30, you will learn a little more about grade level curriculum and routines and ways you can best partner with your child’s classroom teacher. We will all meet at 7pm in the Janet Root Theatre. This event is only for adults.
The pop-up spirit shop will be open for business at Back to School Night!
Carline
I know from experience that there are always lots of questions around arrival and dismissal procedures. At the beginning of the school year, car line requires some patience. Please make sure that name tags are visible through the driver’s side. It takes a full week for the kinks to be worked out. Once Lower School clubs start, there will be fewer cars, alleviating some of the back up as well. Please review documents outlining traffic flow that were sent in PowerSchool over the summer.
Update Web Bookmarks
If you have pages from the Shorecrest website bookmarked on a computer or device, this is a great time to update those links. Many pages have been updated or reorganized.
One-Way Traffic on Campus
For all Back to School Nights, traffic is one-way from 2pm until campus closes after the events. Please drive carefully, other events may occur on campus at the same time.
The remianing Back to School Nights are:
As an extension of the Global Scholars Initiative at Shorecrest, fourth grade families are invited to host an international student. Shorecrest families have hosted international visitors for more than 20 years in the Upper School and for 3 years in the Lower School. This is a great experience for our children to live our school’s core values, learn about other cultures, and become global citizens. This year we will have a delegation visiting from a bilingual school El Salvador. There will be an informational meeting for families interested in participating in this program on Thursday, September 6 at 6pm in the LS Spanish Portable (Charger Blvd by the field). Please RSVP to [email protected]
Clubs
Clubs will start on September 10 and end October 19 (the make-up week is October 22). Click here.
