Eighth Graders Lead JK on Naturalist Hike

Experiential School News

Shorecrest eighth graders took the JK classes out on a naturalist hike this week. Eighth graders were able to pass on information they have acquired through the Coastal Awareness Program to teach some of the JK students about common, native species in Florida. They were able to point out the plants and animals in the back of our own campus in the outdoor Native Classroom.

Students compared and contrasted eagles and osprey while observing their nests as well as looked at some of the native species out at the Native Classroom. The JK went away with new knowledge, a new big friend, and even a few fallen leaves.
