If you are interested in applying for a tuition discount for the 2017-18 school year, now is the time to apply through SSS by NAIS, the trusted third party Shorecrest uses to determine family need.
Families who are interested in financial aid must apply for it each year. Current recipients must submit a new application in order to be eligible for aid for the 2017-18 school year. All applications for aid must be submitted by January 31, 2017.
1. Step-by-Step Workbook: Download and print this step-by-step guide to keep with you as you work through the online application. You will need your 2015 tax return and 2016 W-2. If you have not yet filed your taxes for the year in question, use previous year tax returns or estimates. If you have received income for something, yet you do not have documentation for that income, it is acceptable to enter your best estimate of the amount.
2. New or Extenuating Circumstances: If you are a past aid recipient and your family’s situation has changed significantly, or there’s something new you feel the Flexible Tuition Committee should know, the best place to input that information is in the final section of the SSS online application called “Other Considerations.” This ensures that all members of the awarding committee have all of the same, necessary information.
3. Start Early: Shorecrest prioritizes current families' applications for the Flexible Tuition Program before awarding aid to new families. The earlier you submit your documents, the sooner you will know if you qualify. Award decisions are made in March and qualifying applicants are awarded aid in the order they were received.

Shorecrest is pleased to give priority consideration for applicants who are siblings of current students or alumni, or children of faculty or alumni. If you have a child who will be new to Shorecrest for 2017-18, please submit an application as soon as possible. The deadline for sibling/faculty/legacy priority is December 1. After December 1, all applications are assessed as they are received.
