Alpha students in The Experiential School of Tampa Bay really enjoyed the many gingerbread-themed activities they experienced last week. Classes began by reading the story "The Gingerbread Baby" by Jan Brett. Next, students decorated their own gingerbread baby using paper, pom poms, sequins, ribbon, and stickers. Then, they dictated their own gingerbread stories. Such creativity!
From gingerbread play dough in the "Alpha Bakery," building gingerbread houses with the many blocks we have stocked, painting, cutting out and decorating with paper "candies" to create a gingerbread house out of our exploratorium loft, to all sorts of gingerbread books to read - the children "ran, ran as fast as they could" to catch those gingerbread men!
