Shore to Shorecrest 5k Run/Walk

Next month is the first of three major centennial celebrations scheduled for this fall. All community members are invited to celebrate Shorecrest’s history and participate in the inaugural Shore to Shorecrest 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 21 at 8am! Physical well-being is a pillar of Shorecrest’s mission, and what could be more fun than to join with other members of the school community for a walk down memory lane? The route starts from the site of the School's original location at 1200 North Shore Drive NE and follows a closed, flat course to our current campus on First Street.
All in-person participants will receive a finisher medal and registrants who sign up by October 1 will get a race t-shirt. At 9:30am, there will be a Sparky Sprint on campus, designed for those 8 years and younger to walk, run or sprint(!) through a course located in front of Charger Commons. The finish line on campus is set up so that runners, walkers and spectators can enjoy a Health and Wellness Village on the Gaffney Green. Entertainment for this family-friendly day is sponsored by Dr. Kenyon Fort, Oral Surgery & Dental Implants and will include a photo booth sponsored by Northeast Orthodontics. There will be a variety of health and wellness focused community partners on site to share their unique offerings. And of course, there will be food trucks and treats galore.

I look forward to seeing many of you at this spectacular event. I envision a festive morning overflowing with so much Charger spirit. This is a chance to honor the history of Shorecrest while also moving forward to our Second Century. I can’t wait!
